1. What is the name of your company? What is your mission?
The company is AbleSpark. Our mission is to help our clients reduce cost, save time, and increase the bottom line by building functional websites and applications that help them streamline their operations, provide visibility and insight into business data, automate routine tasks, and effectively communicate with their audience both inside and outside of their organization.
2. Why did you decide to open AbleSpark for business?
I wanted a change from my regular job and had always wanted to be self-employed.
3. What are the different services you offer?

We work with our clients with many aspects of their web presence including website design and development, website software integration, and website optimization.

We help our clients reduce cost, save time, and increase the bottom line by building applications that help them streamline their operations, provide greater visibility and insight into business data, and automate routine tasks. We provide managed WordPress and application hosting and security services to make sure that our client’s websites and critical data are backed up, protected, and secure.

4. What is your background in the areas of web development?
I have a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and more than 20 years of professional experience in systems architecture, programming, and database design. I also have more than 15 years of professional experience with web design and development.
5. How do your services benefit the small business community?
We work with our clients to make sure they are maximizing the return on the investments that they are making in technology. We can often save our client’s money over the long term by introducing better systems that work the way that they work and allowing them to take care of some tasks in-house as opposed to outsourcing everything.
6. Tell us more about your technical expertise.
Over the past 20 years, I have served as a Solutions Architect for websites, e-commerce solutions, order management systems, accounting systems, and more. I often create systems that follow a product or service through its entire life cycle. I am currently working on a custom CRM, an association management system, and several websites with my team.
I have personally built and managed application systems and websites using a wide variety of programming languages, databases, and tools including: PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, C# , MSSQL, COBOL, VAX RDB, ORACLE, and FileMaker. I also have a working knowledge Linux server management and website security principles.
7. What is your #1 piece of advice to other small business owners?
Projects without deadlines never get done. Create deadlines and stick to them
